SIGMA Surplus - eCommerce Inventory Specialist
About the Role

The Surplus division of Sigma Equipment is expanding and we are looking for enterprising, detail-oriented individuals to help us grow. Our Surplus division sells parts, components and smaller pieces of equipment used in the manufacturing industry on ecommerce websites.

What You'll Do

Your role is to accept incoming purchases and determine appropriate action for that inventory based on triage process - inventory improvement, recycle, listing, etc. You will be responsible for coordinating and organizing inventory ensuring accuracy in location and counts.

  • Accept and inspect inbound purchases and direct items for recycle, power up, listing (triage process)
  • Take physical inventory of lot all inventory purchases
  • Receive merchandise into the system
  • Lead the weekly triage meeting for department
  • Use RF scanners to direct the merchandise to the systematic location
  • Conduct spot counts and bin audits as necessary
  • Investigate and correct inventory discrepancies – utilize cycle counting to fix errors
  • Communicate inventory concerns effectively and with sense of urgency to department leadership – recounts, mixed products in location, labeling concerns
  • Breakdown boxes and remove from area
  • Verify product and quantity of item being put away
  • Load/unload pallets & packages in appropriate bin
  • Verifies BOL, skid and carton count as needed
  • Ensure correct allocation and consolidation of inventory is maintained
  • Perform listing approvals as needed
  • Assist in implementation and utilization of inventory control business rules and Lean principles
  • Coordinate inventory priorities and consolidation activities with recycle specialists
  • Develop inventory return process and handle incoming returns for dispostion
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelors or associates degree is strongly preferred; at a minimum must possess a high school diploma or equivalent with a demonstrated work ethic and strong attention to detail
  • Previous experience working with large sets of data/transactional data
  • Proficient to advanced knowledge of Excel or Google Sheets
  • Previous experience with inventory control/management in warehouse distribution setting
  • Proficient in utilizing software programs and applications
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Must possess strong written and math skills
  • Must be able to multitask
  • Must be able to work self-directed as well as part of a team
  • Excellent organizations and communication skills
