SIGMA Surplus - eCommerce Customer Service Specialist
About the Role

The Surplus division of Sigma Equipment is expanding and we are looking for enterprising, detail-oriented individuals to help us grow. Our Surplus division sells parts, components and smaller pieces of equipment used in the manufacturing industry on ecommerce websites.

What You'll Do

Your role is to answer phone calls and emails from customers to place orders and ask questions about our products.

  • Email- and phone-based customer care
  • Guide and process customer orders, take payments, and inquiries in a fast-paced environment
  • Communicate with customers via phone, email and (eventually) chat
  • Direct calls to other departments or take messages as necessary.
  • Solve customer problems and find best possible solutions
  • Help customers navigate Sigma Surplus website and place orders online
  • Provide knowledgeable answers to questions about products, pricing and shipping
  • Respond to shipping inquiries and answer order status questions; assist to expedite shipping as necessary
  • Become a product expert and understand each customer's needs to provide real, effective solutions and deliver exceptional customer service
  • Data entry as necessary
  • Will be trained in pick/pack/ship to learn daily workflow and better meet customer needs
  • Prospecting as necessary
  • Coordinate customer needs with other departments to ensure satisfaction
  • Handle payment information and credit card transactions according to company policies with the utmost confidentiality and business ethics
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelors or associates degree is strongly preferred; at a minimum must possess a high school diploma or equivalent with a demonstrated work ethic and strong attention to detail
  • Three or more years of customer experience
  • Solid computer and internet research abilities
  • Great attention to detail with strong email and phone skills
  • Exceptional professionalism when responding to customer service inquiries or complaints
  • Ability to self-motivate and stay on task throughout the work day without direct supervision
  • E-commerce experience is preferred
